Composed to mark Mozart's 250th anniversary in 2006, and based on the name of the composer's young grand-daughter Aurora Merivan, this extended one-movement work is a glorious essay using the entire range of the double bass, particularly harmonics. There are technical and musical challenges in equal measure and this evocative and impressive work is Hauta-aho at his most lyrical and inventive. Ideal for the adventurous bassist.
