Madenski: Two Miniatures

Eduard Madenski (1877-1923) studied with Frantisek Simandl and was a bassist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. His works for double bass, written in a late-romantic and tonal style, include these two miniatures which are ideal for bassists confident in the solo register and who are able to project a strong and lyrical tone.

The accompaniments are effective and supportive, and these would be useful for any post-Grade 8 bassist looking for something new and accessible.
