The composer is known mainly for his compositions for wind instruments of which Concerto in E flat major for Clarinet and Orchestra op.36 is just one example. The piece was written in 1803 and its exceptionality lies in a fitting instrumental setting as well as in formal balance. It definitely belongs to the best known European compositions for clarinet. The piano reduction was prepared by the composer Ladislav Simon, the solo part was revised by Professor Jiri Kratochvil.
