Lullaby has a gentle and lyrical melodic appeal; Sophie's Flute Song makes effective use of open strings, harmonics and pizzicato (also available with string quartet accompaniment); A Little Waltz is more extended, with some percussive accompaniment in the middle section; and A Serious Joke has a lively, rhythmic, quirky and humorous character.
