Grade: Advanced
An exquisite pastoral miniature exploring the lyrical potential of the double bass.
Ruth Gipps (1921-1999) was one of Britain's leading female composers and successfully captures the melodic and sonorous capabilities of the double bass. Using a three octave range, a good legato bowing is needed and the ability to play and project and long and sinuous lyrical phrases.
The edition is published with piano accompaniments for both solo and orchestral tunings. Also playable by contra-bassoon and piano, and a solo part is included.
Despatch time for this item is 4-5 working days.
